During his school days Mark used to play hockey and football. His meeting with Venkatesh who was the first dwarf athlete to represent India in para badminton changed his entire life. Venkatesh advised Mark to switch to Para Badminton which he followed to achieve tremendous success.
Mark has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. His father is a fishing nets manufacturer at home and his mother is a housewife. He also has a younger sister who is married.
Mark won several medals at the 2016 Asian Para Badminton Championship in China. This included a Gold in the doubles event, Silver in mixed doubles and Bronze in singles. Apart from this Mark has also won a Bronze medal (mixed doubles) at the BWF Para Badminton Open International in Northern Ireland and at the BWF Para Badminton World Championship in England.
Mark was shortlisted and eventually selected for support under the GoSports Foundation Para Champions Programme 2017-18, after Para Badminton’s inclusion into the list of events at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. He is World No. 4 in Mixed Doubles in SS6.
