Inclined to sport from a very early age, Sandeep used to compete with regular able-bodied individuals during his school days. He was very good at it too, winning multiple medals across various events. A natural at sport, Sandeep started winning medals in diverse range of national and international athletics events such as 100m, 200m, 400m and long jump. Having already accumulated a multitude of medals at the major international stage, it is hard to imagine that Sandeep is still only 25. He idolises fellow Indian para athlete Devendra Jhajharia.
Sandeep secured the ‘A’ qualification mark and was one of India’s top medal prospects at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. However, an untimely injury meant he was unable to take part at the Selection Trials and therefore missed the chance to qualify for the Paralympic Games. His focus has now shifted to the Para Asian Games in 2018.
