Mrs. Akila Krishnakumar (Chairperson of the CSR Committee)

Mrs. Akila Krishnakumar holds a Masters degree in Management Studies. She was President – Global Technology and Country Head until February 2013 at SunGard – a Fortune 500 Company and a global leader in Financial Services Software. During her career spanning 30 years, she has led Technology-driven companies which were building enterprise-scale solutions across the world. Mrs. Akila Krishnakumar’s focus has been on operational excellence, talent engagement and customer relevance, which repeatedly has delivered robust returns for the many businesses she managed. She had been on the Board of State Bank of Mysore from June 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

Mr. Rajiv Agarwal

Mr. Rajiv Agarwal, B. Sc. in Physics, followed by 2 years course in Materials Science in Cranfield Institute of Technology in the UK. Mr. Agarwal has around 38 years of experience in ‘Small Scale Industries’ segment. Mr. Agarwal had started his career in the family business at JG Vacuum Flasks Pvt Ltd. manufacturers of thermos flasks and vacuum refills, with significant exports to Europe. During his career, Mr Agarwal has been a promotor in several small-scale ventures, primarily manufacturing concerns. Mr Agarwal is presently working as a Director in Rightsource Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Autopress India Pvt Ltd. He is also a partner in Sensory Solutions. Rightsource Technologies Pvt Ltd is a Consulting Company working as a local strategic buying office for large international company manufacturing home and kitchen appliances and cookware. Sensory Solutions is a firm in partnership with his sons. The activity is to conduct training programs with corporate as well as individual customers. Autopress India Pvt. Ltd., a manufacturing company making high end cookware. Autopress was one of the first companies to bring the Indian market “Triply” cookware “made in India” under the brand name of STAHL. This brand, in a short period of 5 years, has pan India presence. STAHL is there in about 1400 top retail counters across India. STAHL has also brought to the market the first Triply Pressure Cooker to the market in India.

Mr. Jayant Deshmukh (Director)

Mr. Jayant Deshmukh was a career Government official with over 31 years of vast and varied experience in the field of Agriculture. He served as Director of Agriculture, Maharashtra State, from April 2010 to March 2016 in different capacities. Prior to that he held many important positions in the Department of Agri, Maharashtra. He has rich experience of working from grass root level to the top administration. He has domain expertise in the fields of seed certification, watershed development, crops insurance, agri input management, capacity building, farmers' organization, Organic farming, soil health, etc. He also worked as the Licensing and Regulatory Authority for the agri inputs and have closely coordinated with Govt. of India and the World Bank for successful implementation of their projects. Before joining the Department of Agriculture Maharashtra, Mr. Deshmukh served as Agri. Finance Officer in Bank of Maharashtra for nearly 18 months. Here he gained first-hand knowledge about rural and agricultural finance, rural livelihood issues, co-operation and issues related with recovery of Loans. A postgraduate in Agriculture, Mr. Deshmukh has imparted training in many areas relevant to his work, Training on Soil and water Conservation and Management at the International Irrigation Centre, Utah State University, Logan, USA and training on Rural Development at Feldafing, Munich, Germany, being a few notable among them. He has worked in close coordination with different Cooperative Institutions like the sugar cooperatives, Dist. Cooperative Banks, Multipurpose Societies for successful implementation of Government Programmes.'

Mr. Sumant Kathpalia (Managing Director and CEO)

Sumant Kathpalia is a career banker with years of rich experience in large multi-national banks such as Citibank, Bank of America and ABN AMRO prior to joining IndusInd Bank. Sumant has successfully led several leadership roles over his career spanning 30 years with focus on driving business growth and innovation. At IndusInd Bank, Sumant Kathpalia has been part of the core leadership team that joined the Bank 12 years ago and has been pivotal in turning the bank around. He has been a key member of the top level executive committee looking at bank wide financial management, managing investor relations and involved in evaluating inorganic growth opportunities. In his prior role as Head-Consumer Bank at IndusInd, Sumant has been instrumental in setting up several new businesses from scratch to cater to the needs of Individual and SME segments while successfully balancing growth with quality and compliance to regulatory and internal guidelines. He also led expansion of the consumer distribution franchise and has been instrumental in positioning IndusInd Bank as a customer responsive bank with a slew of industry first innovations for clients. Sumant has also been keenly focused on revitalizing and re-energizing the business models leveraging decision sciences and digitization to redefine client experience and to scale with efficiency.
Prior to joining IndusInd Bank, he worked with ABN AMRO where he held several critical leadership positions including Head-Consumer Bank for ABN AMRO, India. Prior to ABN AMRO, Sumant spent a decade at Bank of America and he started his career with Citibank; where he held positions across functions including Business Growth & Strategy, Sales & Distribution, Operations, Systems, Risk Management and Financial Management.
Sumant Kathpalia is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and graduate in B Com (Hons.) from Hindu College, Delhi University.

Mr. Arun Khurana (Whole-Time Director (Executive Director))

Mr. Arun Khurana joined the Bank in November 2011 and is Deputy CEO of the Bank since April 1, 2020 and is also the overall head of Global Markets Group (GMG), Transaction Banking Group (TBG), Investment Banking, Financial Institutions & Public Sector, Financial Restructuring & Reconstruction Group (FRRG), Centralised Fraud Monitoring Unit (CFMU), Pan Bank Liabilities Group (PBLG), etc. He is an essential attendee and a mandatory invitee for Board meetings and some of the Sub-Committees of the Board (Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, Committee of Directors, etc.). He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has over 29 years of banking experience. He began his banking career with Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) followed by ABN AMRO Bank which was subsequently acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland. With RBS India, he was Managing Director & Head of Global Markets, wherein he built a successful franchise across Trading, Sales, DCM and Equity. Thereafter, he went on to become the Managing Director and Head of Corporate Solutions Asia Pacific with RBS, Singapore. He has also worked and held senior positions across geographies in London, Dubai and Singapore giving him broad international exposure across various markets. He has worked extensively with clients ranging from Global Development Institutions, Global banks, Insurers, Hedge funds, Financial institutions, Multinational Corporations, Public sector companies, local corporates and has demonstrated value generating, capital preserving business strategies; influences strategic decisions and is a positive communicator. He believes to sustain value, leverage best practices of risk and governance to contain credit, operational and regulatory risk in rapidly altering market situations, enhance client acquisition by adapting digital strategy across financial products.
