Aruna Singh Tanwar

Despite the fact that she was born with a deformation in both hands, she never stopped believing in herself and worked hard to overcome her condition. Her family has always treated her as if she were a normal child, and they have always been there for her through every challenge she has faced. In 2008, her coach attended a training camp at a government school in her area, where Aruna also participated, opting for mixed martial arts, and thus her taekwondo career began. Aruna is a fighter who believes she can compete with anyone, so she competed in the regular category until 2017, when she was no longer eligible to compete in an international event, at which point she moved to the Paralympics division. Her father works as a driver in a chemical company and has always been supportive of her endeavors. Despite her family's financial difficulties, Aruna's father took out several loans and spent his savings to help her realize her goals. Aruna never grumbled about the difficulties she encountered; instead, she worked hard to overcome them. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she qualified for the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 as the first para Taekwondo player. Currently, she is training hard and eyeing to book a ticket to Paris Paralympics as well.
