Manoj Sarkar
Manoj’s condition arose out of wrongful medical treatment at the age of 1. His father was a painter but does not work because of his bad health condition; his mother is a homemaker and has health issues as well. Manoj is the only earning member in the family, and his livelihood is earned by playing competitions and winning, as well as coaching young aspiring badminton players. He had been playing badminton since the age of 5 and an expert introduced him to para badminton after seeing his performances against able-bodied counterparts. Manoj showed promise from a very young age and his ability was never in question. He began participating in, and winning national competitions and soon became a core part of the Indian Para-badminton Team. He won a Bronze medal in Tokyo Paralympics 2020 and has risen as one of the best players in the world, winning medals in singles and doubles events. Manoj was inducted in the program in 2017 and has been with GoSports Foundation since that day.
