Ravi Baby Sahana

In 2014, Baby Sahana began her table tennis journey when she was in her 5th grade. It was in 2015 that she joined the Coronation Club under the guidance of Raj Aravindan Alagar, who served as her first coach and instilled in her a serious passion for the sport. Her first taste of international success came in 2015 when she won a silver medal in Jordan. After completing her 9th grade, Sahana made the bold decision to discontinue traditional schooling and embraced homeschooling through NIOS, dedicating 6-8 hours daily to intensive practice in Table Tennis. Her dedication paid off as she consistently secured medals in international competitions, including events in Spain and Ethiopia, alternating her victories. In September 2022, Sahana took a significant step forward in her career by joining the SDAT-AKG Table Tennis Development Center in Chennai. Throughout her journey, Sahana has been fortunate to have unwavering support from her parents, who wholeheartedly embraced her dreams and aspirations of becoming a Paralympian and a professional athlete. Her current coach, Mr. Murlidhar Rao, who previously coached Achanta Sharad Kamal, has been an invaluable source of inspiration and guidance. He continuously motivates Sahana and provides the essential direction needed for her growth as an athlete. She was inducted into the Para Champions Programme in 2023.
