Huiningshumbam Roni Devi

Roni Devi joined a local judo academy near her home for fitness but soon took a liking to the sport. She was scouted by Head Coach Mamuka Kizashvils and Ast. Coach Chanu for the IIS Judo program. The daughter of a farmer, she was amazed by IIS and its facilities, learning how good nutrition, sleep, and recovery programs go hand in hand with the intense training in making a good judoka. Swimming sessions at IIS are her favourite mode of recovery & recreation. Her favourite judoka is Uta Abe from Japan & she wants to follow in her footsteps to an Olympic Gold.
