Tanishtha Tokas from South West Delhi is a Junior judoka and plays in the 52kg weight category. She completed 12th grade in Humanities with 88.9%. Her father is a Swimming coach and a gym trainer and her mother is a Housewife. Tannishtha recalls " I started judo as a part of physical activities as I used to visit the temple near our house in the afternoon with my grandma and the coach who used to teach judo was our relative so he used to support us a little more than other players". Her motivation is to make the country proud and make her parents feel proud and most importantly, to increase the financial position of her family". Her inspiration is Majilinda kelmendi. She aims to win a gold medal in Olympics for the country. She started her competitive Judo journey by winning a silver medal in her first competition and after that, she had a hunger to win gold. She joined IIS to increase her performance level and learn more about the game. She faced difficulties finding rehabilitation, physiotherapy and gym facilities in her home state which were solved by getting inducted into IIS. IIS has helped her in proper rehabilitation and increased her techniques. She recalls the biggest highlight of her Judo journey "In 2021 I went to play cadet nationals and this time the player who came first would go to play Asian championship so I had a lot of pressure, everyone was thinking that I would lose but I was playing with full confidence and energy, I shocked everyone and everyone was congratulating me” She likes to eat homemade food. Her favourite colour is black and she has decided that as much as possible, she will wear black clothing as that is how she expresses herself. Tannishtha speaks Hindi, English, Haryanvi and Sanskrit. Her hobbies are Sketching, reading facts and spending time with her family. Her favourite games are badminton and swimming. She also likes watching Patriotic, real-life-based movies and Bollywood movies. “I won a bronze medal in the Asian championship 2021 and want to win all the greatest titles in Judo and government awards like the Arjuna award, and Major Dhyanchand and Khel Ratan”
