Thakhellambam Inungambi

Thakhellambam Inungambi is from Tiger camp Imphal East district of Manipur and currently participates in the 70kg weight category. She can speak Hindi, English, and Manipuri. Inunganbi was always keen on playing sports. Her father’s friend who was also her first coach guided her to pursue Judo and fuelled her interest. Inunganbi has had a successful career since her first tournaments, winning several national and international medals. She loves to play football and watch action movies. Her father is an officer at the Health Department of Manipur and her mother is a Housewife. She gets her motivation from her parents. She recalls her first state championship where she lost the game but decided not to give up on her dream. IIS coaches visited Manipur for scouting purposes and selected Innu to be a part of the IIS judo program. According to Innu, IIS has helped her to know more about Judo as a game. She likes Conditioning sessions, recovery sessions, and physiotherapy. She feels better now than when she started playing 70kg and she was able to beat all opponents in the category. She aims to be an Olympic champion.
