Thoudam Belori Devi

Thoudam Belori Devi from Imphal, Manipur is a Gold medalist at the Sub Junior and Cadet State Championship. She is currently studying and speaks Manipuri and English. Her father is the head of the family and is a Police Officer by the profession and her mother is a housewife. Belori aims to win a World Championship Gold Medal and be the best Judoka and therefore pursued Judo as a sport since childhood. She likes playing sports in general and was guided towards Judo by her uncle who is a judo coach. Currently, she is a Cadet and participates in the 48 kg category. Her favourite pastime is to watch the food blog Chanel on YouTube and also likes to try out different hairstyles – often on her fellow judokas. She likes to listen to music, play football, play Mobil legion games and watch Romcom movies and Allu Arjun Movies. She recalls her first competition where "I was very nervous, I lost the Match but was motivated to do well in my next competition". She was scouted by Mamuka and Coach Chanu to join the IIS Judo program. She used to find it challenging to interact with people of other ethnicities before joining IIS. However, after joining IIS, she feels like she is similar to most of the people here (despite coming from different ethnicities) and has made friends and is very grateful for this opportunity.
