Hailing from Dehradun, Uttarakhand Unnati participates in the Junior -63 kg category. Unnati got selected in the Indian team for the Asian Cadet Championship in 2019, won a bronze medal and due to this accolade she played at the Judo World Cadet Championship. Despite being a cadet she won a bronze medal at the Senior National Championship in 2019. She speaks English and Hindi. Her favourite pastime is to listen to music and play Uno with her friends and she also likes comedy, inspiration, and action movies. Unnati's Father is a retired Army Officer and her mother is a housewife. Unnati shares "I was very attracted to sports when I was in school. When I was in class 6th there was a new PT teacher. He used to teach children in free period so one day I saw it and got curious to learn and that's how I started Judo". Her motivation is her father and she wants to win medals for the country. She gets inspired by Clarisse Agbenenou, a French judo player with 5 world titles and an Olympic champion. In her first competition, she won her first silver medal. Her reason to join IIS was that she did not have these many facilities in her state. She did not have physiotherapy support or technical expertise. At IIS, She has learned and improved in her technical abilities, has become stronger and feels stronger, and has fewer injuries. She appreciates the Coaching Program, Strength and Conditioning program, and Recovery facilities like ice bath measure at IIS. IIS has helped her to grow as a Judo Player. Unnati's aim is to win a medal at the World Championship and Olympic Games.
