Understanding Transaction Types

All Shopping transaction done at retail outlets.

Domestic POS, refers to transactions done in India. These Transactions are authenticated by a PIN.

International POS, refers to shopping transactions done outside India. These transactions may/may NOT need a PIN.

As a security measure, it is suggested that your International POS is disabled, unless you are travelling abroad.

All cash withdrawals/ card requests at ATMs.

Domestic ATM, refers to cash withdrawals done in India. These Transactions are authenticated by a PIN.

International ATM, refers to cash withdrawals done outside India. These transactions may/may NOT need a PIN.

As a security measure, it is suggested that your International ATM is disabled, unless you are travelling abroad.

All shopping transactions done online/ at websites.

Domestic ECOM, refers to payments at Indian websites. These Transactions are authenticated by a One Time Password sent to your registered Mobile Number.

International ECOM refers to payments at International websites (including Apple App store, Google, Netflix, etc). These transactions may/may NOT need an OTP.

To enjoy a seamless Debit Card experience- it is suggested that you enable BOTH- Domestic & International ECOMMERCE on your card.

MOTO is an order when the payment information is provided to the merchant by an email or phone. These kinds of orders are commonly conducted with the help of the telephone, computer network or an email to give the details of the payment. Certain international destinations allow MOTO transactions. As a security measure, it is suggested that your SI MOTO Transactions is disabled, unless you are travelling abroad.

All Contactless Shopping transactions done by tapping the Debit Card on the POS Terminal. Domestic NFC transactions upto Rs. 5000 DO NOT need a PIN. Domestic NFC Transactions Over Rs. 5000 will need a PIN.

To enjoy a seamless Debit Card experience- it is suggested that you enable DOMESTIC NFC transactions on your Debit Card. As a security measure, it is suggested that your international NFC Transactions is disabled, unless you are travelling abroad.

Tokenization allows your encrypted Card information to be saved at merchant websites & payment apps such as Apple Pay/ Samsung Pay.

Enabling Domestic Tokenization is safe, since your Domestic transactions will be authenticated by an OTP sent to your mobile number. As a security measure, it is suggested that your international TOKENIZATION Transactions is disabled, unless you are actively using Apple Pay/ International websites.
