As per RBI guidelines starting 1st October 2022, actual card number, CVV and Expiry date and any other sensitive information related to Debit cards cannot be stored by merchants or payment aggregators/gateways for processing online transactions. Only a Token (or an alias) of your card will be saved. Which means your card information cannot be compromised online.

Tokenization is the process of replacing the actual card details with a unique code known as “Token” to make a transaction more safe & secured. A unique Token is created per card per merchant per device.
