  • What is Tokenization?

    Tokenization is the process of replacing the actual card details with a unique code known as “Token” to make a transaction more safe & secured. A unique Token is created per card per merchant per device.

  • What are the steps to tokenize an IndusInd Bank Debit Card?

    • Go to my accounts/Saved Cards page on merchant website/App
    • Enter card details to add a Card
    • Complete a Re.1 / Rs.2 transaction with an OTP to tokenize your Card

    Alternatively, you can also opt to save your card details at the time of transaction to secure your card & enjoy the convenience of online shopping.

  • What are the charges that I need to pay for availing this service?

    You need not pay any charges for availing this service.

  • Why should I Tokenize a Debit Card?

    A secure/tokenised card transaction is safer as the actual card details are not shared / stored with the merchants to perform the transaction. Securing/Tokenisation also helps you save the hassle of inputting your complete card details each time.

  • How will I recognise my tokenized Debit card on the merchant page?

    You will be able to recognise your card using the last 4 digits of the card on the merchant page which is the only detail that will continue to be stored by the merchant.

  • Do I need to Tokenize my Debit Card for International online transactions?

    No, Tokenisation is applicable only for domestic transactions.

  • Do I need to Tokenize my Debit Card for transactions done at merchant stores/outlets?

    No, Tokenisation is required only for online transactions.

  • Is it mandatory for me to Secure/Tokenise my Debit Card?

    No, you can choose not to tokenize your Card. If not Secured/Tokenised, starting 1st October 2022, you would need to enter the full card number, CVV and Expiry date every time to do an online transaction.

  • Do I need to re-create a token if my Debit Card gets replaced or renewed or reissued or upgraded?

    You would need to again visit the merchant page and create a fresh token by following up the same steps used in creating the old token.
