Neeraj Yadav

Neeraj was diagnosed with Post-Polio Residual Paralysis at the tender age of 7. He completed his graduation from Delhi University in the year 2008 and was always inclined towards sports from an early age. He started his sporting journey as a wheelchair tennis player back in the year 2005. From 2005 to 2012, Neeraj represented India at a few tennis tournaments and managed to win numerous medals during this time. In any case, until 2008, Neeraj had no clue about para sports. In the year 2012, because of monetary difficulties, Neeraj dropped the idea of pursuing sports and finally decided to focus solely on his job as a vocational trainer at one of the spinal injury centres. In the next year, he got engaged. It was his wife who upheld and roused him to proceed with sports like he was doing before marriage. Neeraj gave it a thought, and in 2015 he decided to partake in an individual game as opposed to a group activity. He started to get ready for the 2015 Delhi State Athletic Meet and, surprisingly, after practicing for less than 10 days, he won the gold medal in each of the three events (Shot Put, Javelin, and Discus Throw) he participated in. Since that day, there has been no option but to press onward for Neeraj. He took part in a few international and national events and won different medals consistently. As of now, his goal is to break the national record this year.
